http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Individualism
Individualism: the supremacy of the single unit, the person alone, viewed apart from those around him; away, removed, separate. In the primary place of consideration stands the one unit by himself. But man is socially oriented; man is made in the image of God. God is the Divine unity of three Persons. Man has a natural tendency towards a similar arrangement of existence, in which he is unified with other men. He is social, not singular. Seen as merely individualistic, man seeks his own ends through the means of taking advantage of the benefits other men may provide to him. All interest in the other can only be seen as a way to further selfish needs or desires and not for the benefit of the other. However, man is oriented towards aiding his brethren and thus seen is not purely individualistic.
